Week-long intensive
EMDR Intensives
Our EMDR Intensive Programmes
Our EMDR intensive programmes offer a fast, focused way to work through trauma and anxiety.
With longer EMDR therapy sessions and close support from an experienced EMDR therapist, you can make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.

What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a highly effective, evidence-based EMDR therapy for trauma, PTSD, and anxiety. It helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel as vivid, overwhelming, or triggering.
Unprocessed traumatic memories can resurface as nightmares, flashbacks, physical tension, or a general sense of overwhelm.
During an EMDR therapy session, your EMDR therapist or practitioner guides you through bilateral stimulation - activating both sides of the brain using gentle eye movements, sounds, or taps. This process supports the brain’s natural ability to process and heal from trauma, reducing emotional distress and promoting calm and resilience.
What is an EMDR intensive?
An EMDR intensive is a bespoke programme which helps you to reach your goals, and get relief from your problems, quickly. For some people intrusive memories, a phobia, or a stuck pattern of behaviour, could be cleared within a relatively short space of time.
People often choose EMDR therapy for support with conditions such as:
-
Anxiety
-
OCD
-
PTSD
Intensive EMDR sessions are typically 2-4 hours long, and are carried out over a few days during a week or weekend, giving you a condensed period of therapy compared with traditional weekly EMDR.
The evidence shows that this format of EMDR is just as effective as weekly sessions in reducing problematic symptoms of PTSD, and in many cases improves completion rates of therapy.

Why choose an EMDR intensive?
Q: What is the benefit of an EMDR Intensive vs weekly therapy?
EMDR Intensives allow faster progress in a shorter time. Longer, back-to-back sessions mean you’re supported through the emotions that surface during trauma processing, rather than waiting a week between sessions. This focused format helps you stay on track with your goals instead of being pulled off course by weekly life events.
Q: Who benefits from EMDR Intensives?
An EMDR intensive is ideal if you:
✓ Have limited time for weekly therapy
✓ Need help quickly after a stressful or traumatic event
✓ Have a short break (e.g. annual leave or gardening leave) to dedicate to therapy
✓ Want to make quick progress before a big life change
✓ Are in counselling but need trauma-specific support alongside it
Q: Do you offer online EMDR Intensives?
Yes. EMDR Intensives can be delivered online or face-to-face. Both options are equally effective - online EMDR sessions offer flexibility and privacy, while in-person sessions may suit you better if you want to get away from your every-day life admin for the period of your programme. Online EMDR therapy works as effectively as in-person - more in how online EMDR works in practice here.
Q : Who can benefit from an EMDR intensive?
EMDR Intensives are effective for people experiencing trauma, burnout, anxiety, or stress-related symptoms. They can be particularly helpful if you:
✓ Feel stuck despite previous therapy
✓ Are coping with flashbacks, nightmares, or emotional overwhelm
✓ Want relief from trauma-related stress without long-term weekly sessions
✓ Need a focused reset due to work stress, relationship strain, or major life change
Q: Is EMDR therapy safe?
EMDR therapy is considered very safe and is widely used for trauma, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. As with any therapeutic process, some people may experience temporary emotional discomfort while processing distressing memories. Your EMDR practitioner will guide the pace and use grounding techniques to ensure the work is contained and manageable. Q: Can I get a free consultation before purchasing an intensive EMDR therapy course?
Absolutely! Book in a free 20 minute EMDR consultation with one of our EMDR therapists today.
Q: How much does an EMDR Intensive treatment cost?
Our EMDR intensive packages range from £1500 - £1800.
Each one has a slightly different format according to the therapist's availability, some are held over weekends and others during the week.
