Dr Louise O'Rourke
If you are living with the effects of trauma, you may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. I can help you to understand how trauma and past experiences may affect the way you feel about yourself, others, and the world, in ways that continue to impact daily life and relationships.
Seeking therapy can feel like a big step. My role as a Clinical Psychologist is to help that step feel safer and more manageable, offering a supportive space to make sense of your experiences, recognise your strengths, and develop new ways of coping that support healing and lasting change.

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Health Psychologist specialising in trauma-focused therapy, with expertise in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)-informed approaches.
Through my work in NHS primary care services and private practice, I have provided evidence-based psychological therapy to adults of all ages, often supporting people who may feel caught in unhelpful patterns and are seeking change. I also have experience in working with individuals living with long-term physical health conditions and have a strong interest in the relationship between physical health and emotional wellbeing. I offer a calm and compassionate space where we can work together to help you feel more grounded and supported, moving forward at a pace that feels right for you, with therapy carefully tailored to your experiences, needs, and goals.
