Dr Claire Plumbly

Claire is the founder and lead of Plum Psychology. She is an experienced HCPC-Registered Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Consultant.

As well as 1-1 therapy, she offers keynotes and workshops on burnout and wellbeing, and is the author of Burnout: How to Manage Your Nervous System Before It Manages You.

 

She has an active presence on social media where she aims to make psychological ideas and resources more accessible to the public to help improve wellbeing and debunk therapy misconceptions.

Dr Claire Plumbly qualified in 2008.  Her NHS work includes 6.5 years in an Improving Access to Psychological (IAPT) service, then in 3 years in a sexual assault referral centre in London. 

 

She has been in full time private practice in Somerset since 2017 specialising in trauma-related issues such as sexual assault; attachment trauma and burnout.

Claire is accredited in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and is an EMDR Consultant, plus she has training in Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).  She uses these in an integrative way depending on the background and needs of her clients.
