What happens when you contact us?

  • Your enquiry will be reviewed personally by Dr Claire Plumbly, our founder, who takes time to understand your situation and what support you may need.
     

  • Dr Claire typically replies the same working day with a clear, thoughtful recommendation tailored to you.
     

  • If it feels like the right fit, she will arrange a free 15-minute call with the most appropriate member of our team
     

  • We aim to offer a therapy start date as soon as possible, usually within a short timeframe of 1-2 weeks.

You won’t be passed around or left waiting...

EMDR Intensives

Alongside traditional weekly therapy, we also offer week, or weekend-long, intensive EMDR therapy.

 

What this is: This is an approach to EMDR therapy which is growing in popularity in the UK.  It is a highly-effective, structured therapy, carried out over 2-3 days, enabling you to reach your goals in a shorter time-frame.

Therapists enjoy offering this because we see people get better more quickly.

Ideal for: Busy professionals who want lasting progress in days, not months - and who can set aside a few focused days to prioritise this.

Hi, I’m Claire,

​Clinical Psychologist, EMDR Consultant, Author & Founder of Plum Psychology

I started Plum Psychology after almost burning out - twice. First in the NHS, where I quietly over-functioned in a stretched-thin team. And again while raising a family and running a business, outwardly succeeding but inwardly running on empty.

Both times, I recognised the signs just in time - thanks to my training in trauma therapy and the nervous system. But I saw how easy it would be to miss them. And how few therapy spaces there are to understand the complex layers of stress in high-functioning people.

That’s why I built Plum Psychology: to create the kind of support I knew was missing.

Today, we’re a team of specialist therapists offering structured, trauma-informed therapy for people who struggle to tend to their own needs properly.

We’re not here to help you just keep going.

Dr Claire Plumbly is an HCPC-Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience supporting individuals through burnout, anxiety, and trauma. She has seen how those who appear to be coping are often overlooked by health professionals. This is invalidating and leaves you without the support you truly need. At Plum Psychology, Claire leads her team with this in mind, ensuring each therapist is finely tuned to the realities of busy professionals. All of our therapists at Plum Psychology are registered with the correct governing body.  The HCPC is the governing body for all practitioner psychologists, the BABCP is the governing body for CBT therapists.
