Dr Vicky Aldridge

You might be feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed. Perhaps the job that once gave you purpose now leaves you numb or angry?   Or the people you used to feel connected to feel out-of-reach or like they don't understand.

Perhaps you've had a pressure to keep going whilst working in a complex environment or with others' distress, without any proper support, appreciation or care - all of which can lead to moral injury, burnout and post-traumatic stress.

Evening 6-8pm & Saturday 2-4pm

Fee: £140 per session

I help people make sense of what’s happened to them, reclaim their values and rebuild a life that feels meaningful again. Together, we work to reduce symptoms such as hypervigilance, guilt, anger, shame and exhaustion, so you can function at both home and work and enjoy your free time properly.

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience in mental health and have been part of the Plum team since 2023. Since qualifying in 2018, I’ve worked across NHS, charitable and forensic settings, most recently in a UK-wide veterans service.

I’m trained in gold-standard trauma therapies — Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) — and I integrate these with a compassion-focused approach so we can find the method that fits you best.

When not carrying out my clinic at Plum Psychology I actively contribute to trauma research and publish articles about trauma with leading professionals.

As well as weekly therapy sessions I also offer EMDR intensives.

From people Vicky has worked with

"I would highly recommend Vicky to anyone, she comes across with great understanding of what you are going through and nothing felt rushed. The EMDR treatment transformed my life and my family’s life. I would 100% recommend this treatment and I can’t thank her enough!"
